I went to the library and was so pleased with myself when I left with a tote bag full of books that I could barely carry out to my car. There are so many new books out that I just can’t wait to sit down and tear into them. TV shows are now back in full swing. While The New Girl and The Office are at the top of my watch list, I know a lot of the moms at Allison’s gymnastics class are getting excited to watch the bachelor again. I have never seen The Bachelor myself, but with all the buzz I’ve heard about it lately, I may have to tune in to see what the fuss is about. I also have a huge list of crafts I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. I spent a few hours this past weekend trolling the craft and hardware stores looking for project inspiration, which actually came easy since the Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day décor is finally hitting the shelves. I am excited to get working on those to show you what I have come up with over the next few weeks.
I get so wrapped up into giving to others during the holiday season, I forget to give myself a treat of “me time” to just indulge in the things that bring me a little joy. Now that I have found the time, I am taking full advantage and it feels so good!
Have you gotten some "me time" lately? What are some little things you like to do that bring you a little joy?

I really really want to get back into reading. I think you've inspired me to do so :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I have taken a break from reading then start again, I always wonder why I didn't make the time to squeeze it in. I forget how nice it is just to sit down and get lost in another world. Hope you are able to find a book that jump starts your reading habit again!
DeleteMe time is glorious. I leave the library w/a stack of books I can barely carry too. I've done that my whole life, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteReading is nice. I watched a tv show the other night, a cake baking show...I've never seen it before and it was nice to just veg out and watch a show.
Glad you're finding time to spoil you. Dec. despite all it's good, does take that away, I know. :)
I may have to try to find that cake decorating show. After making those cookies for my niece, I think I have an itch to try more baked goods decorating!
DeleteI do miss the days of vegging out and watching some tv, got a bit to catch up on. Same with books, just way too many. But finding some me time is sure grand when one can.
ReplyDeleteI agree, even if you can only sneak in a few minutes, it sure is grand!
DeleteSo glad you're enjoying some much needed "ME" time. You deserve it! It's important to take time for yourself when you can. It's been awhile since I've indulged in my favourite things, especially books :( But I really should get back into it. Once my youngest is in school, maybe I'll get the chance :) Enjoy!! I can't wait to see what crafts you come up with next :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting (but a little sad) that Emma is going to be starting school soon. I do hope you will be able to find a little extra time in your day to indulge yourself too. You deserve it too!
DeleteWe all need ME TIME!! I think women try so hard to please others that they never do for themselves. Good for you.... Enjoy your time. Life is to short not to.
ReplyDeleteExactly Terry! It always amazes me how many women neglect themselves because they are trying so hard to make sure everyone else has their needs met. A little "me time" sure does go a long way!
DeleteI love to read, but just can't get the chance to sit down alone with a book, so I read blogs!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Bobbie Anne
Reading blogs is one of my guilty pleasures too. I learn so much from what other bloggers post each day!
DeleteSpending good quality time with my girl friends....sometimes our busy weeks and kids/husbands keep us from getting together, but that time is always precious to me!
ReplyDeleteYes! Girl time is a must! It's what keeps me sane :)
DeleteThe Bachelor is just some good 'ol fashioned craziness!! Hahah.
ReplyDeleteI do love New Girl, though. Kinda weird/not very funny last night...but I still love it.
The New Girl is one of the few that my husband and I can enjoy together. I missed last nights. I still have 2 on the tivo that we need to watch.
Deletehi Theresa!
ReplyDeletehmmmm, me time? What's that? hahahaha.
I went to Savers on Monday and bought 8 items for $8! It was 99¢ on Purple tag items. Wow, I had fun then.
My fav shows are:
Modern Family
Big Bang Theory
Biggest Loser
and I am really enjoying Brian Williams new show: Rock Center!
My computer is back and my schedule is bit strange. I think I will be shooting you a new button by Friday, ok?
(big hug)
Awesome deals Renae! Glad to see you back doll :)
DeleteYou know, I've never seen The Bachelor, either. It just never appealed to me. I'm not sure why, but I gave up some shows this year. The Amazing Race, American Idol and The BIggest Loser. They just seemed to take up too much of my time. I do love to chill out in front of the tv after the kids are in bed, though. It's an awesome way to unwind and just not have to think for an hour or two after going non stop all day!
ReplyDeleteYes, we gave up a few also including American Idol. Hubs refused to watch with Nikki Minaj on there. I ended up ditching Survivor too.
DeleteYes, it is good to enjoy the small pleasures that life offers us daily.
ReplyDeleteIt's good you have some time for you.
ReplyDeleteI still have a cold and have taught the last two days. Yesterday I wanted to just chill. I LOVE that my boys never outgrew the cuddle thing. They still love to cuddle to watch a movie. That's so nice!
I've wathced a couple of bachelor's seasons, they are sometimes so cruel...but then again, it is television. Anyhow, I think you will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome that you are able to do so much (other than nothing ;-) for yourself.
Very cool blog. Interesting posts. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice atmosphere guests with you here on the blog. ;]
Yours. Have a nice day. !

Aaaaah you're so lucky! I am going cray here lol. I am glad you finally got your house back together again. I hope next week is my turn for the 'aaaaah' moments.
ReplyDeleteI've been able to read more again lately, and that makes me happy. :) My husband is working crazy hours, but I usually wait up for him anyway. After Elliott goes to bed, I am able to do whatever I want to do quietly for a little while. I even have the excuse of not being able to clean anywhere upstairs, because Elliott's a light sleeper. Haha. That also means I can't use my Cricut, but it's a fair enough trade off. I've been trying to spend an hour or two a week while Elliott is at school using my Cricut and getting caught up on some scrapbooking.
